On Friday, March 4th at 10:11 the Esopus Fire Department was dispatched to a report of chimney fire at 15 Louis Valli Rd. The Highland Hose Company was also dispatched with one engine to the scene. The first arriving unit was on scene within 4 minutes and reported a possible fire in the chimney. Due to the location of the chimney and access issues, the New Paltz Fire Department was requested with their ladder truck to the scene. Firefighters were able to confine the fire to the chimney and extinguish it. Fortunately, no residents were displaced due to this incident and there were no injuries. Esopus Firefighters were assisted by the Highland Hose Company and the New Paltz Fire Department.
